PRESERVING FOODS IN BOTTLES AND JARS

PRESERVING FOODS IN BOTTLES AND JARS

The most practical way of preparing food is to maximize the cost of money in your budget. As the rising cost of the expenditures of food in our daily budget we must learn how to save by preserving foods from bottles through pasteurization or cooking it in pressure cooker.

One of these foods that my wife, Edith are always store is the Tomato sauce and the sun-dried tomatoes. Tomatoes can be very expensive on lean months of July, August, Septermber and October but they can be very cheat at summer time or when rainy season is already gone. My wife, Edith would go to the Pasig market where the central distribution of vegetables is located.

We buy plenty of tomatoes at the lowest prices we could haggle from vendors and middlemen.Tomato sauce and Stewed tomatoes can be preserved on bottles that are cutomized for the purpose of preserving. Cooked on pressure cooker, tomatoes are dipped in a few minutes in boiling water and then taken out when skins turned still. Peel the thin skin of the tomatoes and placed it in a jar with a sealing device.
